Civilian Courses

Before signing up for regular training classes, we urge you to attend a complimentary class first to get a proper understanding of what Kalah self-defence training entails.

Be sure to bring along a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing which allows for freedom of movement.

Regardless of which instructor, and in which country you are training with, our standard and approach to training will be consistent, as is expected from the Kalah Combat System and enforced by Idan Abolnik.

Some insight into what you will learn in our self-defence training:

We teach de-escalation, submissive stance, and defences against armed and unarmed assailants. We cover grabs, chokes and holds from a multitude of angles as well as a defence on the ground, among other things. All scenarios are practised under pressure and stress, bringing our reality-based training to the forefront. Regular pressure testing is essential to ensure your safety and of your loved ones. Kalah is not an easy form of close combat self-defence – it is so purposely – much like the situation in reality. You will learn how to defend yourself regardless of the fear that you may feel. Our training isn’t just physical, it is mental too.
